Indy 500 Race Set To Take Place This August, But With One Major Condition

Gonna be very strange to watch the Indy 500 this August, thanks to the pandemic. But even stranger if there aren\’t any race fans in the stands at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. IndyCar officials are now saying that the only way the race will happen in August is with fans in attendance. Hey, it\’s all about revenue. Period. Even a televised race without fans would only bring in a fraction of the dollars expected. But how on earth do you practice social distancing with A QUARTER OF A MILLION PEOPLE? A friend of mine suggested Indy500 officials could hold a lottery for ticket holders and only allow a \”limited number of fans\” in to experience the race. Uh, no. Not happening! There are plenty of Indy 500 fans who have been going for decades, many who haven\’t missed a race in years. So imagine telling them their name didn\’t get drawn to attend this summer\’s race. You\’d have better luck wrestling a baby rhino from his momma! As you\’ll read in the story below in the link from our news partner CBS4, October would be another option for the race if fans can\’t attend in August. Fingers crossed that things calm now considerably between now and August 23rd so fans can enjoy the greatest spectacle in racing...in person
