James Gunn Says Krypto, Superman’s Dog, Will Star In New Live Action Film – Reason Might Make Ya Cry!

In movie news that is sure to have comic book fans barking with excitement, James Gunn has announced that Krypto – Superman’s super-pet, named for the Man of Steel’s home planet Krypton – will be a part of next summer’s big-budget “Superman” movie!

The loyal canine will make his live action debut alongside David Corenswet portraying Superman. Gunn shared that the film’s furry four-legged character is inspired by his dog Ozu, who he said he adopted shortly after he began writing the “Superman” script. This is what I love most about this movie because I’m a dog loving mom of two rescued fur babies. My Vinnie (pictured above) had the superpower skills of never missing out on a sunny day or making my day brighter just by his loving looks or the way he nuzzled my hand. And if the truth be told my Vinnie rescued me every day we were blessed to share together. Those are real superpowers!

James Gunn shared he was inspired to write Krypto into his new movie because of the love of his adopted dog Ozu.  What better time to announce the not-so-good-good-boy Krypto than #AdoptAShelterDog month See images of the new Krypto here: Superman’s James Gunn on Why Krypto Isn’t a Labrador in the Movie (msn.com)
