Indianapolis, come on down! You’re the next contestant on ‘The Price Is Right’!!” Let’s hope so anyway. The legendary TV game show is marking their 50th anniversary (on CBS) by taking the show on the road, visiting 50 cities across the U.S., including Dallas and St. Louis. They’ll begin the quest this Friday in Santa Monica. Supposedly they’ll reveal all 50 stops later this week. I could see the show taking place at the Murat Theater or Clowes Hall. According to the Associated Press, host Drew Carey won’t be on the tour, but contestants will still get to play their iconic games like PLINKO and the Showcase Showdown. I think this promotion lost a little sizzle by NOT having Drew on the tour. That’s part of the excitement is to actually have Drew in your city, right? Nonetheless it will be cool for fans who can’t make it out to California where the game is taped and played. Oh, and even cooler is that contestants will be guessing the prices on local items in each city. So if the tour swings through Indy, you might be guessing the price of some Red Gold ketchup (made in Elwood, Indiana).
