A biopic about the life of Cher has gotten the greenlight this week! Cher announced on Twitter (see below) the good news, that Universal is behind the project which will enlist the talents of the team who produced Mamma Mia. Also Eric Roth, who’s best known for his writing skills with ‘Forest Gump’ and ‘A Star Is Born’ is on board to help craft Cher’s film. A made for TV movie was made about Sonny and Cher, but this film will hopefully take fans through her early years in the music biz, through 6 decades of not only hit songs, but also movies and theater. Cher will also serve as one of the producers of the film, which makes me wonder just how truth will be told in her biopic. I really hope she tells it all! Her relationships with Sonny and Gregg Allman and others. The good and the bad. It’s what helped make her into the woman she is today. The project just got off the ground, so we’ll keep an eye out for who will possibly be cast as lead. Probably three or four actors will play her at different stages in her life, depending upon where the story starts.
