Red Wagons At Riley Hospital For Children Carry Courageous Cargo

Riley Wagon

If you’ve ever been to Riley Hospital For Children in downtown Indianapolis, you’ve most likely seen lots red wagons throughout their hallways. Young patients are taken to their next appointment or treatment, not in a wheelchair, but in a cool red wagon. What a brilliant way to take their minds off of ‘going to the hospital’, and making it more of an adventure. When I was there with the rest of the WJJK crew last year for our Riley Radiothon, I stopped several times to just watch the kids climb into the wagons. You would never have known that they were facing a health crisis. What’s cool is that anyone can sponsor one of these wagons! Families, individuals, businesses, groups have made a donation to cover the cost of the wagon and get a special license plate with their name on the back of it!

We kick off the 104-5 WJJK Ziebart Window Tint Riley Radiothon this morning at 6:00! Our goal this year is to raise $200,000 in two days! Keep in mind, Riley Hospital is a nonprofit facility, and is only able to provide care thanks to donations from generous peeps in our community. I hope you’ll tune in today and tomorrow to hear stories from some of these incredible kids and their families. Trust me, you’ll be amazed at their courage and their dreams. ANY donation that you can make will be greatly appreciated!

You can donate by calling the Metro PCS Riley Phone Bank: 1-888-RILEY KIDS

Or via our website…or even stop by the WJJK studios at 6810 Shadeland Avenue here on Indy’s north east side.

On behalf of all of us at WJJK, WFMS and 93.9 The Beat, thank you for helping us support Riley Hospital For Children.
