We’ve all heard Billy Joel’s Top 20 song from 1982 titled “Allentown”……right?

Allentown was an industrial town, in Northeast Pennsylvania that had fallen on hard times when Joel wrote the song, and unemployment in the area was at an all-time high of 12%.

And that was about 40 years ago, and now Matt Teurk, the Mayor of Allentown, is NOT a fan of the song. He says over the past 40 years Allentown has changed a lot…..It now hosts the corporate headquarters of several major companies and also has one of Pennsylvania’s biggest hospitals in the state. So, needless to say, it’s not “hard to stay” in Allentown.
