Behind The Scenes of WJJK [VIDEO]

It’s funny what one’s perception is of ANY job, ya know? On the surface it may not look like work at all. But most people I’ve talked to within my 24 year radio broadcasting career think that I just sit in a studio playing my favorite songs, kicked back with coffee. FALSE!..okay, I’m having my third cup of coffee as I type this, but my job is very fast paced. I host a segment every morning called ‘Survey Says’. Similar to TVs Family Feud (minus the awkward kissing from the host), I give you a survey result, needing listeners to call in and fill in the blank. Generally I only have 3 to 5 minutes at the most to take some calls, record them, edit the calls for play back before the commercial break is over. So when I talk with you on the phone, it has to be quick! I generally don’t even say goodbye, because those seconds add up (have you ever tried to end a call with a chatty friend? EXACTLY!)  Here’s a short behind the scenes look at how Survey Says comes together (and IT’S even edited down because I know you’re busy!) And by the way, thank you very much for listening to WJJK each morning and calling in with your guess for Survey Says!
